I have multiple Win2000 servers in a datacenter. I have ping
monitoring setup (every 60s) and 2 of these servers timeout on what
appears to be random occasions. Sometimes they timeout for a few
minutes and on other occasions a few hours. The servers appear to be
fine. Pinging from multiple locations all result in timeouts. One
interesting fact, if I Terminal Service into these boxes, I am
successful AND pinging immediately works again. Another interesting
fact, these 2 servers ping fine when pinging from other servers inside
the same network. Any suggestions on where the issue would likely be?
Network card, switch, etc. Thanks.
